In 2011 STUDIO for Creative Inquiry Hosts Art && Code 3D. First Depthkit prototype started. James George and Jonathan Minard start CLOUDS project.
The team behind Scatter creates the RGBD Toolkit. For the first time, creators anywhere in the world can film their subjects in three dimensions. CLOUDS, the world's first volumetric documentary, premieres at Sundance.
First Storyscape award at Tribeca Film Festival.
2015
Depthkit creators are part of the inaugural NEW INC incubator.
2016
Scatter founded, raises a pre-seed round led by Lux Capital.
Oculus commissions Zero Days VR from Scatter.
CLOUDS concludes its festival tour at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
2017
Zero Days VR premieres at Sundance 2017.
Blackout premieres at Tribeca - human stories recorded live in 3 dimensions on site at the festival.
2018
Scatter closes Seed round led by Eniac.
Depthkit Core is launched! The initial prototype is rebuilt from the ground up for scale, speed and quality.
Zero Days VR becomes the first immersive media production to win an Emmy.
Tribeca Storyscapes Film Festival features three Depthkit powered productions: Terminal 3, Vestige and Queerskins.
Imogen Heap concert captured with Depthkit and presented in TheWaveVR

Scatter begins private pilot of Depthkit Studio, the first self-service professional 360° volumetric video capture solution. Early adopters include the New York Times.
Scatter launches Depthkit Cinema, the highest resolution portable volumetric capture tool.
The Depthkit Studio pilot grows 5x, from just 12 to over 60 customers, in over 13 different countries
WXR Fund invests in Scatter.
The Changing Same premieres at Sundance Film Festival and wins Best Immersive Narrative at Tribeca Festival.
The Depthkit Studio Hardware Package is introduced, allowing customers to take the guesswork out of hardware by purchasing preconfigured systems from Scatter.

Scatter graduates Depthkit Studio out of Pilot and into commercial release, announcing premium customers like HBO, Accenture and Cornell Tech.
Scatter unveils key Metaverse integrations with Depthkit Studio support in VRChat, AltSpace VR, and Snapchat.
